Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable backend and machine learning systems for sponsored experiences, ranking, retrieval, and personalization.
- Develop and own MLOps pipelines for model integration, delivery, training, validation, and monitoring.
- Engineer large-scale data pipelines for model training and feature engineering.
- Implement and optimize traditional machine learning and Generative AI models, including LLMs, for low-latency and high-throughput serving.
- Collaborate with Applied Researchers to productionize algorithms and research prototypes.
- Build scalable distributed systems and expose functionality through RESTful or gRPC APIs.
- Monitor performance, resolve production issues, and improve the reliability and efficiency of ML services.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, technical guidance, architecture design, and pair programming.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related area with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 6+ years, in ML, AI, or Data Engineering.
- Expertise in production software engineering and development in an object-oriented language such as Scala, Java, or Python.
- Extensive experience with distributed big-data processing frameworks such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, or Flink.
- Production experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience with model-serving frameworks such as TensorFlow Serving, TorchServe, or NVIDIA Triton.
- Preferred experience with LangChain and Hugging Face Transformers for LLM operations.
- Ability to build and manage CI/CD pipelines for ML models using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud services, big-data pipelines, and databases, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Ability to design scalable distributed systems and well-designed RESTful or gRPC APIs.
- Strong understanding of operating machine learning systems in a 24/7 production environment, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
