Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, enhance, and modernize healthcare applications using SYNON/COOL 2E, COBOL400, CL/400, CLLE, and DB2/400.
- Develop and support RxCLAIM pharmacy claims adjudication functionality and related business processes.
- Analyze and modify complex claims-processing logic, business rules, and system workflows.
- Develop and maintain integrations between RxCLAIM/AS/400 applications and downstream healthcare and PBM systems.
- Troubleshoot production and application issues, investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement technical solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and application changes.
- Document system flows, functionality, interfaces, and business logic, and perform impact analysis for changes.
- Conduct unit and integration testing and support system and user acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, QA teams, and healthcare/PBM stakeholders.
- Own assigned development activities, meet project milestones, and provide technical guidance when needed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with SYNON/COOL 2E, COBOL400, CL/400, CLLE, and DB2/400.
- Strong hands-on experience with RxCLAIM and pharmacy claims adjudication or claims-processing systems.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare and Pharmacy Benefit Management processes and applications.
- Experience analyzing and modifying complex claims-processing logic and business rules.
- Experience supporting integrations between RxCLAIM/AS/400 applications and downstream healthcare systems.
- Strong production support, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex legacy applications and make enhancements with minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to take on technical leadership responsibilities.
- Experience supporting large-scale healthcare or PBM platforms and major enhancements to AS/400 healthcare applications is desired.
- Understanding of legacy application architecture and modernization considerations is desired.
- Experience documenting complex system flows and business logic is desired.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams.
