Base Salary
$184k - $208k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, standards, and technical roadmap for hardware test frameworks.
- Design and build Python-based frameworks and tooling for module-level through spacecraft-level testing.
- Develop drivers and abstractions for power supplies, DAQs, oscilloscopes, environmental chambers, and RF test equipment.
- Architect test-results databases and user interfaces.
- Build shared spacecraft-level tests that can be tailored for individual missions.
- Integrate test frameworks with CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop infrastructure for automated regression testing.
- Partner with subsystem, bus, and test teams to drive adoption, support users, and provide training.
- Mentor engineers and establish code-quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with technical leadership of complex, multi-engineer projects.
- Expert-level Python experience, including designing frameworks or libraries adopted by other engineering teams.
- Experience developing software that controls and tests physical hardware, including drivers for test instruments using VISA/SCPI, serial, CAN, or Ethernet-based interfaces.
- Working knowledge of electronics and laboratory test equipment, including hands-on bench debugging.
- Experience with databases and building tooling and user interfaces.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Preferred experience testing spacecraft, launch vehicles, or other aerospace hardware.
- Preferred experience reading and modifying embedded C/C++ applications and working with hardware-in-the-loop simulation or production/acceptance test systems.
- Preferred familiarity with pytest or similar frameworks, results/time-series databases, and dashboarding tools such as SQL, InfluxDB, and Grafana.
