EDAT- Journeyman Cyber Security Engineer (Microsoft) – Zero Trust- Tampa, FL
BarbaricumResponsibilities
- Implement, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft security technologies within a Zero Trust architecture.
- Deploy and administer Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Entra ID, Logic Apps, and related security services.
- Configure and tune analytics rules, workbooks, dashboards, alerts, and automation workflows for threat detection and response.
- Support UEBA and SOAR capabilities and integrate Microsoft and third-party security telemetry.
- Support RMF activities, security-control implementation, documentation updates, and ATO artifact maintenance.
- Assist with vulnerability assessments, system hardening, and DISA STIG implementation.
- Participate in cybersecurity investigations, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Document procedures, configurations, and operational processes and recommend improvements to monitoring, automation, and cybersecurity operations.
- Collaborate with ISSOs, cybersecurity engineers, system administrators, senior engineers, and government stakeholders supporting the Zero Trust initiative.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required before start.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field, or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
- At least three years of experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity, Microsoft security platforms, or systems engineering.
- Experience administering or supporting Microsoft enterprise security solutions, including one or more listed Microsoft security platforms.
- Experience supporting SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, or security monitoring operations.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and familiarity with enterprise identity, endpoint, cloud, and security architectures.
- Experience supporting RMF documentation or cybersecurity compliance activities and knowledge of DISA STIG implementation.
- DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certification, such as Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, or equivalent, with the ability to obtain IAT Level III if required.
- Preferred qualifications include Microsoft SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, or AZ-500 certifications; scripting or automation experience; third-party security-tool integration; MITRE ATT&CK and threat-detection knowledge; DoD/NSA Zero Trust and RMF experience; and familiarity with USSOCOM SOFNET or similar DoD environments.
