Responsibilities
- Engineer, tune, and operate threat detections and response workflows across Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Author and optimize KQL queries, analytics rules, workbooks, and threat-hunting content.
- Lead Microsoft 365 E5 tenant hardening and maintain secure configuration baselines.
- Administer and harden endpoints using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Intune.
- Build security automation using Logic Apps, automation rules, playbooks, PowerShell, and Azure Functions.
- Own vulnerability assessment and remediation tracking in partnership with IT and infrastructure teams.
- Secure Azure resources and workloads and strengthen firm-wide identity and access management.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Purview for data governance, information protection, data loss prevention, insider risk, and compliance.
- Design controls for AI and agent-based workloads, including data exposure, agent identity and access, and acceptable-use controls.
- Document security standards, procedures, and runbooks and communicate incidents, posture, risks, and recommendations.
- Manage application security assessments and lifecycle oversight.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours changes as needed.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of experience as a Security Engineer at a large, multi-state organization.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, Microsoft 365 tenant hardening, Azure infrastructure security, security automation, Entra ID, Conditional Access, vulnerability assessment, Defender for Endpoint, Intune, Application Control, and Microsoft Purview.
- Experience at a law firm or in a similarly regulated, confidentiality-driven environment.
- Demonstrated enterprise experience securing AWS and/or GCP environments.
- Experience designing and implementing security controls for AI and agent-based workloads.
- Strong technical, organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
