Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and evolution of a secure hybrid cloud platform using Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
- Define reusable platform services, reference architectures, engineering standards, and governance across classified and unclassified environments.
- Architect and manage multi-cluster Kubernetes platforms for development, test, staging, production, and classified environments.
- Establish Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and automated platform provisioning.
- Design Azure landing zones, network topology, identity, governance, private connectivity, firewall inspection, and hub-and-spoke WAN architectures.
- Develop platform capabilities for identity integration, secrets management, policy enforcement, observability, and SRE practices.
- Define SLOs, monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-response processes.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct architecture reviews, and drive platform modernization.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience architecting enterprise cloud platforms.
- At least five years of hands-on experience building enterprise cloud platforms with Azure, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience designing platforms that operate across multiple classification levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related discipline.
- Current CKA, CKS, or CKAD certification, or equivalent.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification is preferred.
- Experience with Azure, including Azure Government, landing zones, VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway, Front Door, Private Link, Azure Arc, Entra ID, and Azure Monitor.
- Experience with Kubernetes, AKS, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, cert-manager, service mesh, container registries, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, and GitLab CI/CD automation.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Log Analytics, monitoring, and alerting.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust, RBAC, Vault, External Secrets Operator, Keycloak, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and FedRAMP/DoD compliance.
- Experience with CI/CD, vulnerability scanning, and CDS (L2H, H2L).
- Active Secret clearance.
