Responsibilities
- Develop embedded real-time software for mission-critical communications and defense systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on performance requirements, system design, and software-hardware interfaces.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and formal software testing.
- Create and contribute to test plans, procedures, technical documentation, and peer reviews.
- Identify, track, troubleshoot, and repair software defects.
- Use multiple programming languages across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
- Provide occasional customer support travel, approximately 5%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience developing embedded real-time software using VxWorks or Linux.
- Depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
- Advanced proficiency in C++ and modern object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with high-performance, multithreaded programming and troubleshooting embedded targets using an RTOS.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols including IP, UDP, TCP, IPSec, DDS, and SNMP.
- Knowledge of signal processing or control systems theory is preferred.
- Previous professional experience with the Department of Defense or intelligence community is preferred.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, teamwork, curiosity, and adaptability skills.
