Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and update developmental and fielded embedded real-time systems.
- Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Provide effort estimates, basis-of-estimate rationale, and risk analysis for technical responses to RFPs based on SOWs.
- Work mostly autonomously and mentor junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot embedded targets and support software architecture, hardware-interface, and protocol development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and at least 6 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a graduate degree and 4 years of related experience, or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with object-oriented C++.
- Experience designing embedded systems using an RTOS.
- Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance.
- Experience with embedded targets, software architecture, drivers, hardware interfaces, communication protocols, operating systems, modeling tools, scripting, configuration management, defect tracking, build automation, and test frameworks is preferred.
- Knowledge of signal processing, control systems, networking, schematics, and UML diagrams is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, and teamwork skills.
