Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and update developmental and fielded embedded real-time systems.
- Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Provide effort estimates, basis-of-estimate rationale, and risk analysis for Requests for Proposals based on Statements of Work.
- Work mostly autonomously and mentor junior engineers.
- Obtain and retain the security clearance required for the position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and at least 6 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with object-oriented C++.
- Experience designing embedded systems, including use of a real-time operating system.
- Preferred experience troubleshooting embedded targets and designing object-oriented software architectures.
- Preferred knowledge of signal processing, control systems, networking, hardware interfaces, protocols, operating systems, modeling software, scripting languages, software configuration management, defect tracking, build automation, and test frameworks.
- Ability to understand schematics and communicate, present, write, and work effectively in a team environment.
