Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and update developmental and fielded embedded real-time systems.
- Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on embedded military communications systems.
- Contribute effort estimates, basis-of-estimate rationale, and risk analysis to technical RFP responses.
- Work mostly autonomously and mentor junior engineers.
- Troubleshoot embedded targets and integrate drivers, hardware interfaces, and communication protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and six years of relevant experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with four years of related experience or ten years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with object-oriented C++.
- Experience designing embedded systems, including use of an RTOS.
- Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded software architecture, signal processing, control systems, networking, operating systems, modeling tools, scripting, configuration management, DevOps technologies, and software testing frameworks.
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, teamwork, schematic-reading, and mentoring abilities.
