Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and update developmental and fielded embedded real-time systems.
- Maintain and review requirements, design documentation, and source code throughout the software lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and work mostly autonomously.
- Contribute technical responses to RFPs through effort estimation, basis-of-estimate rationale, and risk analysis based on SOWs.
- Mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and at least 6 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with object-oriented C++ and experience designing embedded systems with an RTOS.
- Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include embedded-target troubleshooting, software architecture, signal processing, control systems, networking, hardware interfaces, communications protocols, operating systems, UML, modeling tools, scripting languages, configuration management, defect tracking, build automation, containerization, test frameworks, and schematic interpretation.
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and writing skills.
