Responsibilities
- Set technical direction, architectural rationale, and project roadmaps for complex AI/ML projects.
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable, scalable machine learning systems for production environments.
- Develop shared libraries and infrastructure for model deployment, lifecycle management, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Create APIs and services that integrate models with infrastructure and enable scalable AI functionality.
- Oversee multiple complex workstreams and define project problems in high-risk environments.
- Define testing frameworks, model versioning systems, engineering standards, and architecture patterns for agentic systems.
- Manage and coach multiple individuals and establish team-wide development goals.
- Recommend new technologies and AI frameworks to maintain technical and market competitiveness.
Requirements
- Expertise defining technical roadmaps and managing project priorities for high-stakes outcomes.
- Mastery of cloud-native ecosystems and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, including automation of model lifecycles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to design large-scale AI-powered platforms and justify critical architectural decisions in high-risk environments.
- Expert-level experience operationalising models with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Ability to define production-grade engineering standards and architecture patterns for agentic systems.
- Exceptional ability to align multidisciplinary technical teams with business objectives and evolving customer needs.
- May need eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) and willingness to work onsite with government clients from time to time.
