Responsibilities

  • Develop and safely execute network changes using existing procedures and tools.
  • Develop solutions and support tooling that help frontline teams respond to network failures.
  • Participate in primary or secondary operational rotations, on-call support, break-fix events, escalation, and post-event root-cause analysis.
  • Create scripts to automate routine tasks and coordinate with networking automation services on tooling integration.
  • Gather network telemetry, create alert rules, and build dashboards for identifying network issues and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with network vendors and internal Quality Assurance teams to resolve bugs and qualify new firmware and operating systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field and 2+ years of network engineering experience, or a master’s degree and 1+ year of network engineering experience.
  • Experience in a large ISP or cloud provider environment and in a network operations role.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, SSL, and routing protocols.
  • Scripting or automation experience and data center design knowledge; Python is preferred, with expertise in a scripting or compiled language required.
  • Experience with network monitoring and telemetry solutions.
  • Experience with network modeling and programming using YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONF.
  • RDMA networking experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to resolve issues effectively.
