Responsibilities
- Package OrioleDB software into the supabase/postgres repository using Nix and flakes.
- Manage major, minor, and extension release lifecycles for OrioleDB.
- Expand platform release systems to increase developer self-service.
- Improve GitHub Actions, team tooling, CI/CD, testing, and release processes.
- Identify and resolve production issues in customer deployments.
- Maintain tests and best practices that improve stability and reduce deployment risks.
- Co-own OrioleDB’s integration into the Supabase product.
- Mentor engineers on using and contributing to Nix-based tooling.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem, including extensions and performance optimization.
- Proven infrastructure expertise in management, tooling, and optimization.
- Proficiency with Nix package management and flakes, Ansible, Packer, Docker, QEMU/KVM, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building for Linux and Darwin/macOS aarch64 targets.
- Comfort working in polyglot environments involving C/C++, Go, JavaScript, and Rust-based projects.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including customers.
- Experience working in asynchronous or globally distributed teams.
- Experience integrating emerging features into widely used managed hosted product platforms.
- Willingness to mentor and teach engineering teams about Nix-based work.
