Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, test, document, and deliver software features, enhancements, defect corrections, and new products.
- Develop enterprise program products for monitoring IBM z/OS storage environments.
- Own component design and development, define architectural components, and defend design decisions.
- Optimize software designs to leverage platform capabilities and address anti-patterns.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for the product domain.
- Estimate and communicate work, risks, priorities, and delivery plans to management.
- Resolve customer issues in collaboration with Support and Solutions Engineering teams.
- Understand broader customer concerns and create plans to correct problems and prevent recurrence.
- Mentor and teach junior team members while working effectively across teams.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering experience and a proven track record of real-world software development.
- Proficiency in IBM z/OS Assembler (HLASM) development and debugging.
- Proficiency in C/C++ development and debugging.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS operating system environments and facilities, including JES and ISPF.
- Familiarity with IBM z/OS Storage Management and IBM High Level Assembler development and debugging.
- Strong listening, communication, ownership, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
