Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting merchant onboarding, payments, transactions, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Integrate with Adyen and other external services to provide secure and reliable payment workflows.
- Own backend solutions end to end, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Design resilient distributed workflows with asynchronous events, retries, failure handling, and data consistency.
- Collaborate with Android engineers, QA, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver merchant experiences.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, RFCs, code reviews, observability, feature flags, experimentation, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Understanding of distributed systems, API design, databases, asynchronous processing, and reliable service integrations.
- Experience designing maintainable, scalable, and operationally reliable systems.
- Ability to own complex problems from requirements through production operation and balance engineering quality with business priorities.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional, fast-paced, iterative environments.
- Experience leveraging AI-driven engineering tools and workflows.
- Experience with POS systems, payment processing, financial transactions, or payment service provider integrations is a plus.
