Responsibilities
- Analyze web extension code with static and dynamic analysis to detect security violations and malicious behavior.
- Perform JavaScript reverse engineering and debugging of complex or obfuscated codebases.
- Identify, document, and report vulnerabilities with root cause analysis and remediation recommendations.
- Support the investigation and takedown of malicious browser extensions.
- Conduct code reviews and provide secure coding feedback.
- Define detection rules and security patterns for scalable violation detection.
- Investigate emerging threat patterns and improve team detection capabilities.
- Design and implement automation and process improvements for security workflows.
- Provide technical consultation, clarification, and grooming to team members.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and maintain clear technical documentation.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on JavaScript experience, including closures, prototypes, variable scope, hoisting, callbacks, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Hands-on experience with HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of JSON, AJAX, and ES6/ES7 standards.
- Good understanding of Node.js and Webpack.
- Experience with frontend frameworks or libraries such as React, Angular, or jQuery.
- Strong code analysis, debugging, and JavaScript reverse engineering skills.
- Ability to identify malicious activities in JavaScript code.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Cybersecurity experience or strong security knowledge is advantageous.
- Familiarity with DAST and SAST methodologies is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as Burp Suite or Nmap is advantageous.
- Understanding of obfuscation and de-obfuscation techniques is advantageous.
- Experience writing technical and security assessment reports is advantageous.
