Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with external parties and internal cross-functional teams to define product objectives and technical designs for ambiguous real-world problems.
- Curate specialized datasets, design evaluations across industry verticals, and execute model fine-tuning for real-world performance.
- Lead the engineering and development of novel AI solutions from 0 to 1 using internal platforms and tools.
- Build sophisticated agents and workflows powered by DeepMind foundation models.
- Synthesize partner learnings, evaluations, edge cases, and deployment signals for core research teams.
- Set best practices for generative AI deployment and demonstrate frontier-model capabilities on high-impact problems end to end.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of software development experience, including system design, data structures, and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience building, training, and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Preferred: experience with Generative AI and LLMs, including model fine-tuning, custom dataset curation, and evaluation pipeline design.
- Preferred: experience architecting, prototyping, and shipping complex ML systems from the ground up, with deep knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.
- Preferred: experience with Transformers, Diffusion, and LLMs.
- Preferred: strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams on ambiguous, open-ended problems.
Benefits
- US base salary of $207000-$300000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
