Responsibilities
- Embed with homebuilder headquarters, regional, and division teams to conduct technical discovery and assess plan data quality.
- Build and ship plan ingestion pipelines, searchable plan libraries, analytics dashboards, and agent-enabled natural-language search.
- Tune and extend Higharc’s Autotranslate AI capabilities to identify, categorize, and translate floorplans into structured data.
- Write ETL, work with internal APIs, and deliver working capabilities directly to users.
- Build geometric similarity scoring and classification models to identify plan variations and consolidation opportunities.
- Measure data quality, catalog redundancy, dimensional variation, consolidation candidates, and purchasing leverage.
- Track delivery milestones and communicate tradeoffs and technical progress to executive stakeholders.
- Create reusable tooling and patterns for future forward-deployed engagements.
- Travel to client sites and company events up to 30% of the time.
Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering experience, including significant customer-facing or deployed work such as forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or professional services.
- Strong hands-on data fluency with SQL, API scripting, notebooks, and direct dataset investigation.
- Experience rapidly prototyping with tools such as Cursor, Replit, or V0.dev.
- Track record building structured data models, taxonomies, or classification systems and running them in production.
- Strong judgment about data quality, accuracy requirements, and delivery tradeoffs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communication with executive stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to client sites and company events up to 30% of the time.
- Preferred: experience in residential construction, homebuilding, architecture, or AEC technology.
- Preferred: experience with agent-based or natural-language search, RAG systems, or LLM-powered analytics.
- Preferred: exposure to geometric or spatial data, CAD/BIM, computer vision on drawings, similarity methods, or clustering methods.
- Preferred: experience with large, messy enterprise-scale data migrations or ingestion programs.
- Preferred: experience founding a new team, practice, or delivery model.
