Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build, configure, deploy, test, and maintain AI-powered legal tools and workflows.
- Develop prompt libraries and prompt engineering frameworks for generative AI systems.
- Implement integrations between AI tools and CLM, document management, matter management, and e-billing systems.
- Prototype AI workflows from proof of concept through production deployment and evaluate emerging agentic AI capabilities.
- Create AI quality-control procedures, validation protocols, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and output review standards.
- Assess technical risks involving data security, confidentiality, bias, and hallucinations, partnering with IT, information security, and data privacy teams.
- Train legal staff on AI tools, responsible prompting, and output verification, and document standardized workflows.
- Track adoption metrics, define KPIs, measure ROI, and report results to Legal Operations leadership.
- Support legal technology vendor evaluations, demonstrations, pilots, technical assessments, and tool recommendations.
- Collaborate with attorneys, legal operations, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate workflow needs into technical requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, AI/ML, data science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience building or engineering AI/ML solutions involving large language models, natural language processing, or related technologies.
- Practical understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, and AI system evaluation.
- Exposure to legal operations, legal workflows, or the legal industry through internship, work experience, or coursework.
- Familiarity with CLM platforms, AI-assisted legal research tools, document automation, and e-discovery.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical AI concepts to legal and business audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced, build-from-scratch environment.
- Preferred experience in an in-house legal department, law firm, or legal operations team.
- Preferred experience with legal-specific AI tools, AI governance frameworks, responsible AI policies, privacy frameworks, or legal technology.
- Exposure to life sciences, biotechnology, venture capital, legal studies, legal technology, or legal operations is preferred.
