Responsibilities
- Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services.
- Deploy production features using progressive rollouts and feature flags.
- Investigate and resolve production issues in team-owned services.
- Design architectures and services to support increased traffic at high scale.
- Collaborate with the team to prioritize and plan upcoming projects.
- Design AI backend systems while considering quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs.
- Use AI coding tools to build, validate, and refine product code.
Requirements
- Significant experience in one or more programming languages.
- Ability to design architecture for high-scale systems.
- Commitment to code simplicity and performance.
- BS, MS, or PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and refine AI-generated output in products.
- Ability to design AI backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs.
- Motivation to improve software engineering practices and contribute to AI-enabled products is a bonus.
