Base Salary
$110k - $189k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable applications and data pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL, Databricks, and AWS.
- Partner with stakeholders across portfolio management, research, risk, and reporting to translate financial analytics requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement solutions for performance measurement, attribution, returns analysis, benchmark comparisons, and related investment analytics use cases.
- Develop maintainable data workflows emphasizing data quality, transparency, and operational reliability.
- Optimize Spark and SQL workloads through partitioning, query design, and Databricks best practices.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues through root-cause analysis and long-term remediation.
- Collaborate with application, data architecture, and infrastructure teams on end-to-end delivery.
- Contribute to technical standards, documentation, design reviews, development practices, and global sprint milestones.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience delivering technology solutions, preferably in asset management or financial services.
- Strong experience with financial data, including returns, performance, holdings, transactions, positions, benchmarks, and market or reference data.
- Advanced development skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL, including large-scale data processing and optimization.
- Experience building solutions on Databricks and Apache Spark in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
- Understanding of data warehousing and analytical data platform concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, independent working, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with BI and data visualization tools for reporting and insight delivery.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
