Responsibilities
- Write, modify, and review high-quality backend and data-layer code.
- Integrate systems using APIs, messaging queues, and databases.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and large-scale data processing jobs.
- Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with an emphasis on automation.
- Maintain CI and CI/CD pipelines and deploy applications across environments using containerization and orchestration tools.
- Debug distributed applications, perform root-cause analysis, and enforce code-quality gates through reviews and static analysis.
- Monitor production applications, investigate incidents, analyze logs, and implement fixes.
- Optimize backend services for performance, cost efficiency, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Apply secure coding practices, manage secrets, validate inputs, and maintain robust authentication and authorization.
- Comply with regulatory standards and maintain audit documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Experience developing or implementing backend applications and microservices.
- Experience writing, modifying, and reviewing code for commercial or end-user applications.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations.
- Experience debugging distributed applications and performing root-cause analysis.
- Experience developing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Experience integrating systems with APIs, messaging systems, and databases.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deploying backend services.
- Experience applying secure coding practices and complying with regulatory standards.
- Preferred: 2 or more years of backend or microservices development experience in Java.
- Preferred: experience with scalable and resilient microservices, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, relational databases, containerized applications, cloud-native technologies, observability, production support, and AI-powered coding tools.
