Responsibilities
- Develop audio firmware and provide task planning, technical guidance, project tracking, and technical direction.
- Own firmware architecture for audio systems in gaming peripheral products.
- Develop and oversee USB, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz wireless audio protocols, DSP control, codecs, and latency optimization.
- Collaborate with hardware and acoustic teams on system bring-up, tuning, and validation.
- Drive firmware quality through code reviews, debugging, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Track and report development progress, risks, and trade-offs to project managers, product teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Generate firmware requirements documents and test protocols.
- Coordinate with Validation to define test strategies, validation criteria, and issue-triage processes.
- Ensure on-time delivery aligned with NPI schedules and milestone commitments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of embedded firmware development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
- Strong audio firmware experience for consumer or gaming devices, including USB Audio, Bluetooth Audio, and wireless audio systems.
- Experience with MCUs/SoCs, RTOS, DSPs, and low-level driver development.
- Understanding of sampling, latency, synchronization, echo cancellation, and noise processing.
- Ability to manage multiple project priorities in a fast-paced consumer electronics environment.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for global collaboration.
- Gaming peripheral industry experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with embedded CI/CD, such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Familiarity with power profiling tools and energy-aware design.
