Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, debug, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Improve system quality by identifying issues and patterns and developing standard operating procedures.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications and codebases, including peer reviews.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews and investigate relevant new technologies.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Lead or participate in projects while making independent technical decisions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and help drive technical direction.
- Apply AI-native practices, automation, and LLM-based engineering toolchains to improve software development and operations.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 8 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- At least 12 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading architecture, design, and implementation of scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud-based big data systems, and mission-critical low-latency solutions.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- React front-end experience is preferred.
- Experience with event buses such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is preferred.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical architecture, and implementation.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 15 years of full-time education.
