Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize performance-critical Python applications using Cython.
- Profile Python code, identify bottlenecks, and refactor applications to improve execution speed and memory efficiency.
- Write and compile Cython code while integrating C/C++ libraries with Python applications.
- Develop high-performance data structures and algorithms using SIMD and multi-core optimizations.
- Optimize scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and pandas in collaboration with data scientists and engineers.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
- Manage memory manually and apply low-level programming techniques.
- Create technical documentation and performance benchmarks for optimized codebases.
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand performance requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to performance-engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on Python development experience focused on performance optimization.
- Strong proficiency in Python and C/C++ programming.
- Deep expertise in Cython syntax, extensions, and performance-optimization techniques.
- Experience with profiling tools and performance analysis.
- Understanding of memory management, pointer operations, data structures, algorithms, parallel programming, multithreading, and asynchronous processing.
- Familiarity with gcc and clang for building optimized binaries.
- Strong experience with NumPy, SciPy, pandas, or other scientific-computing libraries.
- Experience with Git and version-control practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with JIT compilation techniques such as Numba or PyPy.
- Preferred: knowledge of SIMD instructions, vectorization, data analytics frameworks, caching optimization, large-scale production infrastructure, RESTful services, and Python backend frameworks.
