Responsibilities
- Lead application systems analysis, programming activities, and advanced technology projects across the full software development lifecycle.
- Partner with management teams to integrate functions, define system enhancements, and deliver new products and process improvements.
- Resolve high-impact problems by evaluating complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership on projects implemented by software engineers and analyst developers.
- Ensure application designs follow appropriate architectural and design patterns and establish standards for coding, testing, debugging, and productionization.
- Advance derivatives exposure processing software infrastructure through appropriate adoption of new technologies.
- Build sophisticated tooling for development and production teams.
- Coach and advise mid-level and junior developers and analysts.
- Assess and manage technology, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks and escalate control issues transparently.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Core Java experience developing robust, scalable, and maintainable applications using object-oriented design principles.
- 5+ years of experience working in the capital markets domain.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Java internals, including class loading and memory management.
- Hands-on experience with concurrent programming, Spring Framework, distributed caching, containers, microservices, large datasets, relational and NoSQL databases, Linux, scripting, and development tooling.
- Experience with GemFire, Oracle Coherence, Redis, or Apache Ignite; Docker and Kubernetes; Oracle or MongoDB; and Git or Bitbucket.
- Experience with Jenkins, SonarQube, Jira, CI/CD pipeline frameworks, and secure coding toolkits.
- Experience with Agile software development, test-driven development, industry best practices, and generative AI tools.
- Knowledge of derivatives and risk management is a significant advantage.
