Responsibilities
- Establish requirements and architecture for moderately complex software projects with emphasis on Wi-Fi connectivity and Android system-level development.
- Design, develop, integrate, validate, test, and maintain software, firmware, drivers, and hardware-integrated solutions.
- Explore and integrate next-generation wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi positioning algorithms, into product platforms.
- Audit, optimize, and refine WLAN driver, firmware, and BSP designs.
- Lead and participate in code reviews, inspections, debugging, performance optimization, and technical problem solving.
- Develop project documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user manuals.
- Prioritize features, evaluate new technologies, and develop custom tools or scripts to support analysis and debugging.
- Mentor junior exempt and non-exempt personnel and collaborate with senior stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience; the posting also lists 3+ years of experience with an advanced degree on AI.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, C++, and Python, and experience with software development frameworks.
- Strong expertise in Wi-Fi connectivity, including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be/az, Android system-level development, and Wi-Fi Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, system-level programming, software testing strategies, debugging tools, and performance optimization.
- Experience evaluating and integrating new technologies, adopting GenAI in the software development lifecycle, and solving complex technical problems.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and GitHub and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, prioritization, independent-work, and stakeholder-management skills.
