Responsibilities
- Integrate customer software features into the Vehicle OS using C and C++.
- Write embedded vehicle platform software in C, C++, and Simulink in response to customer requests.
- Manage vehicle integration timelines and execution to achieve start-of-production milestones.
- Establish vehicle integration and testing strategies across Japan and the US time zones.
- Influence technical strategy while balancing new features, scaling challenges, and technical debt.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality software that fulfills project requirements.
Requirements
- MSc in computer science, robotics, or a related field from a top institution.
- 5+ years of experience shipping complex embedded software.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions to complex architectural problems.
- Production experience writing or integrating C++ software.
- Understanding of automotive electronic systems and how to set up and debug them.
- Fluency in written and verbal English and Japanese.
- Experience with automotive technologies such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Simulink, and AUTOSAR is preferred.
- Experience with direct customer management is preferred.
- Experience developing software for large projects, including CI/CD and release processes, is preferred.
- Skills in adjacent areas such as CAD, 3D printing, or PCB design are preferred.
