Responsibilities
- Design, write, and debug production-grade C and C++ firmware and Linux drivers for microcontrollers and Embedded Linux platforms.
- Integrate ROS/ROS2 middleware with high-level computing systems, low-level firmware, sensors, and actuators.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and mechanical teams to define interfaces and integrate robotic systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, write clean maintainable code, and participate in code reviews.
- Drive product lifecycle activities including safety design, abnormal-condition handling, and root-cause analysis of market issues.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in C and C++ for resource-constrained and real-time environments.
- Experience using Python and other languages for scripting and automation.
- Deep proficiency with real-time applications, RTOS, device drivers, Embedded Linux, and resource-constrained mass-produced products.
- Practical experience with ROS/ROS2 and CAN, UART, I2C, and SPI communication protocols.
- Strong cross-team communication, technical writing, and system-documentation skills.
- Preferred experience with DC/BLDC motor-control algorithms, PID loop tuning, Field-Oriented Control, CAN/CANopen, FreeRTOS or another RTOS, and STM32/ARM microcontrollers.
- Conversational Japanese skills are preferred.
