Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, identify technical dependencies, clarify user stories, and provide development estimates.
- Design, develop, test, debug, deploy, and maintain Java applications, services, integrations, APIs, batch workloads, and event-driven solutions.
- Develop, enhance, support, and modernize Perl applications, scripts, batch jobs, and legacy processing components.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
- Investigate defects, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve application and production issues.
- Write unit tests and support integration, system, regression, and user-acceptance testing.
- Participate in code reviews, release planning, deployments, post-release validation, and production support.
- Create technical documentation, interface specifications, deployment procedures, support runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve application reliability, scalability, observability, security, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on Core Java experience, including object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, multithreading, and performance tuning.
- Strong Perl programming and scripting experience with legacy applications, scripts, and batch-processing solutions.
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience, including query development, troubleshooting, data analysis, and performance optimization.
- Experience with AWS application development, deployment, support, cloud-native APIs, batch processing, event-driven integrations, monitoring, and AWS security practices.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, API Gateway, and ECS or EKS.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or comparable tools.
- Experience integrating AWS deployments into CI/CD pipelines and automated build, test, release, rollback, and deployment processes.
- Experience with unit testing, debugging, defect remediation, code reviews, source control, production support, and Agile/Scrum delivery.
- Preferred experience with Java enterprise frameworks, legacy application modernization, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, job scheduling, Docker, AWS messaging services, monitoring, incident management, secure coding, enterprise compliance, and financial-services transaction processing.
- AWS certification such as AWS Certified Developer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator is preferred.
