Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant software applications supporting Institutional Trade Processing businesses.
- Translate business and technical requirements into application and infrastructure designs, tasks, and implementations.
- Design reusable and extensible frameworks and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards.
- Build, test, configure, tune, deploy, and maintain application components and solutions.
- Participate in daily code deployments, thorough code reviews, unit testing, test automation, and quality engineering practices.
- Integrate applications with databases, messaging platforms, web services, cloud infrastructure, and vendor products.
- Support project scoping, timeline estimates, cost-feasibility assessments, client expectations, and urgent issue resolution.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of related experience; the qualifications also cite 7+ years of application development and system analysis experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Expert knowledge of Java/JEE, development concepts, and coding best practices.
- Strong design and coding skills with Web Services, Spring/Spring Boot, SOAP/REST APIs, and JavaScript frameworks for modern web applications.
- Experience integrating with database technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka, Kafka APIs, and tools such as Kafka Connect, KStreams, and KSQL.
- Ability to write quality, self-validating code using unit tests and Test-Driven Development.
- Experience developing with AWS cloud services is a plus.
- Ability to use DevOps practices including continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, build automation, and Test-Driven Development with tools such as Jenkins, CloudBees, and Git.
- Experience with Agile methodology and collaboration with team members.
