Base Salary
$213k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and launch machine-learning models that generate maps from raw data.
- Collaborate with onboard engineering teams to evolve Waymo’s mapping format for automation.
- Apply statistical analysis to validate large-scale system changes.
- Build backend infrastructure for storing and processing map data.
- Scale mapping systems to support worldwide coverage.
- Work across labeling, training, evaluation, and inference and measure impact on the overall system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, experiment design, and quantitative evaluation of machine-learning models or data pipelines.
- Experience building scalable data-processing pipelines with distributed frameworks such as Google Data Flow or Apache Beam.
- Ability to own complex technical problems end to end and deliver measurable results in a collaborative environment.
- Passion for good software engineering.
