Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance algorithmic trading strategies and engines using core Java.
  • Develop, deploy, and support automated trading systems, analytical tools, and scalable trading infrastructure.
  • Improve the technical and execution performance of high-volume, low-latency, resilient, scalable, message-driven systems.
  • Generate and analyze trading signals and data across new and existing algorithm-development projects.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements through design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate directly with trading, quant, IT, and technology product teams to advance supported platforms and businesses.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into well-designed solutions.
  • Manage multiple functions or guide junior staff and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of core Java, version 21 or later, in on-premises UNIX/Linux environments.
  • Experience developing automated trading systems, ideally for market-making and hedging in liquid markets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Good Linux fundamentals and experience with Git/Stash and Jenkins.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Ability to understand supported businesses and financial products, especially equity derivatives.
  • Preferred experience with reactive programming frameworks and techniques, FIX protocol, KDB/q, TypeScript, Angular, and low-latency publish/subscribe messaging middleware.
  • Preferred familiarity with agentic AI products such as Claude Code and Sourcegraph AMP.
