Responsibilities

  • Investigate complex reliability, performance, data-quality, API, and customer-workflow issues across the Microsoft Advertising platform.
  • Design, build, and own AI-driven automation, scripts, services, diagnostic workflows, and internal web tools to reduce manual support effort.
  • Write production-quality code, implement fixes, improve monitoring and alerting, and contribute to shared libraries and tooling.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, post-incident action items, automation, and engineering changes with multiple engineering teams.
  • Create and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests and participate in bug bashes and release-readiness activities.
  • Communicate during live-site events through service alerts, investigation updates, and actionable stakeholder guidance.
  • Analyze escalation trends, propose engineering solutions, and influence product roadmaps to reduce product friction and escalations.
  • Create knowledge-base articles and self-service troubleshooting experiences for Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams, and mentor others on debugging tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data science, cybersecurity, or a related field and at least two years of relevant technical experience, or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of technical experience in service engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, technical support, or a comparable engineering environment is preferred.
  • Experience supporting online services, commercial platforms, or cloud services is preferred.
  • Experience building automation, scripts, diagnostic workflows, dashboards, proactive checks, or alerting solutions is preferred.
  • Proficiency with one or more of Python, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, Java, or similar programming and scripting languages is preferred.
  • Experience querying, analyzing, and visualizing large datasets with SQL or equivalent data platforms is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud, distributed systems, telemetry, monitoring, observability, or service health tooling, preferably Azure, is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting or integrating web and API technologies, including REST, JSON, XML, and authentication patterns, is preferred.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools or Copilot-style workflows to improve investigation and support productivity is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, knowledge-management, collaboration, customer-focus, and technical troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud background-check and applicable customer or government security-screening requirements is required.
  • Solid English speaking, reading, writing, presenting, and technical communication skills are required.
