Responsibilities
- Design, configure, test, and maintain network automation tooling and processes.
- Automate network deployments, configurations, management, and remediation.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to refine requirements for automation and monitoring tooling.
- Create and maintain documentation for automation applications and scripts.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold software quality standards.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Leverage vendor APIs to configure and collect data from network devices.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience working in network automation.
- Experience configuring routers and switches and automating network deployments and configurations.
- Proficiency in Python and experience designing and executing Ansible playbooks.
- Familiarity with Python web application frameworks such as Flask or Django.
- Familiarity with database management, communications, REST, and gRPC.
- Experience developing a CI/CD environment.
- Knowledge of network security procedures and best practices.
- Working knowledge of network monitoring and security utilities, Linux-based operating systems, and container virtualization technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering-related field.
- Preferred: understanding of network virtualization technologies including VRFs and VXLAN, web UI development, multi-vendor network topologies, Linux-based routing daemons such as BIRD and FRR, and media or web-scale sectors.
- Experience with Linux, Python, Ansible, TCP/IP, BGP, Git, Jenkins, and REST.
