Senior Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components for business problems in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams.
- Make ML infrastructure decisions involving model selection, data, feature selection, training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality, bias and variance, and validation.
- Write and test application code, develop and validate ML models, and automate testing and deployment.
- Build and enhance software for large-scale machine learning and big data applications.
- Retrain, maintain, and monitor production models.
- Build or leverage cloud-based architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
- Construct optimized data pipelines that feed ML models.
- Apply continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, and monitoring practices.
- Manage code and model governance while following responsible and explainable AI practices.
- Lead teams developing machine learning solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 8 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java.
- At least 3 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems.
- At least 2 years of experience leading teams developing ML solutions.
- Preferred: master’s or doctoral degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a similar field.
- Preferred: experience deploying ML solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow.
- Preferred: 3+ years developing performant, resilient, and maintainable code; preparing data for ML models; and building production-ready ML data pipelines.
- Preferred: 3+ years of people management experience.
- Preferred: ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open-source contributions, or patents.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to varied audiences and experience using interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
