
Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver machine learning models and components for real-world business problems.
- Make ML infrastructure decisions involving model selection, data, features, training, hyperparameter tuning, dimensionality, bias and variance, and validation.
- Write and test application code, validate ML models, and automate tests and deployment.
- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and cross-functional Agile teams to develop big data and ML applications.
- Retrain, maintain, and monitor models in production.
- Build or leverage cloud-based architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale.
- Construct optimized data pipelines that feed ML models.
- Apply continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation, and monitoring practices.
- Manage code and models to reduce vulnerabilities, support risk governance, and follow Responsible and Explainable AI practices.
- Lead teams developing ML solutions using established practices, patterns, and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 6 years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Python, Scala, or Java.
- At least 2 years of experience building, scaling, and optimizing ML systems.
- Preferred: master’s or doctoral degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a similar field.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience building production-ready data pipelines that feed ML models.
- Preferred: 3+ years of industry experience with recognized ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Dask, Spark, or TensorFlow.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience developing performant, resilient, and maintainable code.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience gathering and preparing data for ML models.
- Preferred: experience deploying ML solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Preferred: experience designing, implementing, and scaling complex ML data pipelines and evaluating their performance.
- Preferred: ML industry contributions through presentations, papers, blog posts, open-source contributions, or patents.
- Preferred: experience using interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
