Responsibilities

  • Fix prioritized correctness, validation, security, and fuzzer-reported bugs in wgpu and Gecko.
  • Diagnose and resolve application blockers affecting real apps and demos in Firefox Nightly.
  • Work through WebGPU conformance test suite failures and expected-failure lists.
  • Write and pass tests, participate in code review, and land reviewed fixes upstream.
  • Coordinate with the Firefox WebGPU team on task selection and priorities.

Requirements

  • Strong Rust programming skills.
  • Experience with a large systems or graphics codebase and the ability to ramp up quickly on wgpu.
  • Comfort working upstream in an open-source project through public issues and code review.
  • Solid debugging skills, including validation bugs, corner cases, and fuzz findings.
  • Preferred: prior wgpu contributions; WebGPU, graphics, or GPU experience; knowledge of Vulkan, DirectX/D3D 11/12, Metal, WGSL, HLSL, MSL, or SPIR-V; low-level Android graphics experience; and security, fuzzing, or web security model experience.
