Senior Embedded Software Engineer - Network Domain

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance network application modules using C/C++.
  • Integrate C/C++ software with Python-based modules.
  • Implement and work with L2–L7 networking protocols including Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
  • Debug complex issues across application, transport, and network layers and analyze crash files.
  • Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking in VM environments, including bridges, TAP/TUN interfaces, VLANs, and virtual switches.
  • Deploy and test networking software in KVM, VMware, VirtualBox, or cloud VM environments.
  • Collaborate with architecture, QA, and DevOps teams on software design, deployment, configuration, and testing.
  • Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of hands-on software development experience with C/C++ and Python.
  • Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6, ARP, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network virtualization.
  • Experience with Linux systems, system programming, socket programming, and multithreading.
  • Hands-on experience with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
  • Experience integrating software with network management systems, SNMP, or REST APIs.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, software design, and performance optimization skills.
  • Preferred experience with VPP, DPDK, SDN/NFV, network appliances, OpenConfig, NETCONF/YANG, gRPC, or telemetry systems.
  • Preferred experience managing virtual machines and virtual networks with KVM, libvirt, VMware, or VirtualBox, including bridges, vSwitches, TAP/TUN interfaces, NAT, or host-only networking.
  • Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Proven record of delivering production-quality software and collaborating effectively in fast-paced teams.
