Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java applications and microservices.
- Build and enhance REST APIs and API Gateway integrations.
- Troubleshoot complex production and application issues.
- Write high-quality code with automated testing and code-quality practices.
- Work with Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases, preferably Couchbase.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and cloud-native platforms.
- Participate in solution design, architecture reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Deploy and maintain production applications.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of Java development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot 3.x/4.x.
- Proven experience building microservices, REST APIs, and API gateways.
- Strong understanding of JVM internals, memory management, garbage collection, multithreading, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases, preferably Couchbase.
- Hands-on experience with JUnit, automated testing, and SonarQube.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and cloud-native environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical design, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring skills.
- Python scripting or development experience is desirable.
- Telecommunications or large-scale enterprise experience is desirable.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and distributed systems is desirable.
- Australian citizenship is preferred.
