Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using pushdown principles, CDS views, associations, annotations, authorization concepts, AMDP, and SQLScript.
- Build modular ABAP services and APIs using modern OData and contract-first service patterns.
- Create reusable enterprise data models and semantic artifacts for transactional, analytical, integration, UI, and AI retrieval use cases.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences with LLM integrations, tool-calling orchestration, retrieval-grounded outputs, deterministic fallbacks, prompts, tool schemas, and context assembly.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and contract tests along with AI evaluation harnesses, golden datasets, scenario tests, and monitoring.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, action confirmations, and audit logging.
- Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces; implement error handling, retries, idempotency, correlation IDs, runbooks, and safe failure modes.
- Integrate SAP HANA services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems through event-driven patterns, API gateways, and enterprise integration layers.
- Collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to prototype and deliver secure, compliant, scalable production solutions.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP development for HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views and modern data modeling, including associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown.
- Strong software engineering discipline covering clean design, testing, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Experience or strong knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, contract-first development, SAP-to-cloud integration, performance benchmarking, load testing, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance.
