Responsibilities
- Own critical multiplier-type projects that improve codebase management and automation capabilities.
- Build foundational backend services and tooling for Wise’s centralized risk platform.
- Collaborate with platform teams, product teams, engineers, leads, and product managers.
- Prototype solutions quickly and refine successful approaches into robust, scalable tools.
- Provide feedback on technical designs and help the team make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience working on high-throughput systems and building fast, reliable services.
- Strong interest in system design and platform-oriented engineering.
- Interest in building infrastructure that enables other teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in fintech or high-trust domains such as risk, identity, or compliance is preferred.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka is preferred.
