Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for the Cash Forecasting platform while contributing to frontend work when needed.
- Develop scalable software in a large, multi-tenant enterprise SaaS codebase.
- Own schema design, query performance, data integrity, and the PostgreSQL-based data layer.
- Write and maintain comprehensive test coverage using RSpec.
- Package and deploy services with Docker within AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
- Create scripts and tooling for automation, data migrations, and repetitive work.
- Implement logging, metrics, tracing, and other observability practices.
- Benchmark and profile code to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Translate business and customer needs into robust technical solutions with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and the on-call pager rotation.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of professional software development experience, ideally with backend-focused full-stack work.
- Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on PostgreSQL experience.
- Ability to work safely in large, sophisticated existing codebases.
- Scripting ability for automation and tooling.
- Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies.
- Proven Git proficiency, including collaborative branching workflows.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language, such as Ruby, Python, or Java.
- Experience using AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience testing with RSpec.
- Preferred experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
- Preferred frontend experience with React.
- Preferred experience or understanding of AWS.
- Preferred experience building or maintaining multi-tenant enterprise SaaS platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with observability tooling and practices, performance benchmarking and profiling, and financial industry systems such as treasury, payments, FX, or ERP platforms.
