Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance Java and Spring Boot microservices.
- Build and maintain event-driven integrations using Apache Kafka.
- Own PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, indexing, query plans, and migrations.
- Operate services in a containerized cloud-native environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP.
- Drive code quality through reviews, testing standards, and CI/CD practices.
- Own features end to end from requirements through production and ongoing improvement.
- Work with business stakeholders to align on solutions and understand customer and product impact.
- Navigate cross-team complexity, build bridges, and drive delivery to completion.
- Write technical documentation including system design documents, RFCs, and ADRs.
- Identify and address technical debt before it becomes operational incidents.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute well-reasoned proposals.
- Mentor team members and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial Java development experience.
- Strong experience with Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA, and Hibernate.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, event-driven patterns, and inter-service communication.
- Knowledge of JVM internals including the memory model, garbage collection tuning, concurrency, and performance profiling.
- Hands-on Apache Kafka experience covering producers, consumers, consumer groups, offset management, and error handling.
- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge including relational modeling, indexing strategy, query plans, and schema migrations.
- Day-to-day production experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git, JIRA, Confluence, code reviews, and CI/CD.
- Ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and write clear technical design documents.
- English proficiency at B2+ level for team and stakeholder communication.
- Ability to use and critically evaluate AI tools and large language models responsibly in professional workflows.
- Kotlin development experience is nice to have.
- Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, and Event Sourcing experience is nice to have.
- gRPC and GraphQL experience is nice to have.
- Experience with GCP Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, GKE, and Cloud Spanner is nice to have.
- MongoDB experience is nice to have.
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems is nice to have.
- Background in e-commerce, logistics, or fintech is nice to have.
