Responsibilities
- Design and build self-service platform capabilities for engineering teams.
- Shape workload deployment practices using GitOps and Kubernetes.
- Improve global hybrid infrastructure spanning bare metal and containers.
- Automate operational toil and convert recurring problems into reusable solutions.
- Design for scale, resilience, and failure while improving system observability.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to identify and remove friction.
- Own delivered systems as part of a follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Strong experience with large-scale, multi-region Linux infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production.
- Experience building platforms, tooling, or workflows for other engineers.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and infrastructure fundamentals, including DNS, HTTP, TLS, and containers.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
- Experience owning production observability across metrics, logs, alerts, and runbooks.
- Ability to build useful tools, primarily using Go, Python, and Bash.
- Experience operating production databases such as PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Redis, ClickHouse, or Elasticsearch.
- Ability to work across teams, time zones, and imperfect information.
- Preferred: experience taking platform or infrastructure projects from idea through production.
- Preferred: experience with globally distributed infrastructure or products and choosing among bare metal, Kubernetes, and managed services.
- Preferred: experience with Argo CD, Flux, or similar tools; OIDC, SAML, and SSO; and applying security or compliance requirements to engineering.
