Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the multi-quarter technical architecture and roadmap for the open-source agent platform, runtime, and developer experience.
- Define extensible platform abstractions, APIs, and lifecycle protocols for stateful, secure, and portable AI agent execution from laptop to cloud.
- Lead technical alignment across Google Cloud, AI/ML teams, security, and external framework and laboratory partners.
- Balance developer ergonomics with enterprise governance, isolation, and hyperscale performance.
- Provide technical leadership in open-source communities and standards bodies while mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages, including Go, Python, Rust, or C++.
- At least 5 years of software design and architecture experience across distributed systems, developer platforms and tooling, container or virtualization runtimes, or AI/cloud infrastructure.
- At least 3 years of software design and architecture experience.
- Experience building or architecting agentic AI platforms and infrastructure.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: deep architectural expertise in at least two areas including agentic harnesses and runtimes, container or microVM and OS isolation, developer tooling and developer experience, or Kubernetes/cloud-native control planes in Go.
- Preferred: recognized open-source leadership and experience taking developer platforms, open-source runtimes, CLIs, SDKs, or AI agent infrastructure from concept to widespread adoption.
