Base Salary
$132k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical vision and end-to-end architecture for Marketplace Orders and Returns systems.
- Design and scale event-driven, microservices-based platforms, APIs, webhooks, integrations, and web front-end applications.
- Lead platform engineering initiatives that improve developer productivity, scalability, reusability, and modernization.
- Solve complex distributed-systems challenges involving consistency, resiliency, latency, reliability, and performance.
- Lead cross-team architecture decisions and influence teams across Marketplace, Payments, Fulfillment, and Seller Platform.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, establish engineering best practices, and contribute hands-on to critical systems.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or at least seven years of software engineering experience without the degree requirement.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms.
- Proficiency with Java and familiarity with React/Redux.
- Experience designing and scaling APIs, webhooks, external integrations, and reusable platform systems.
- Ability to drive architecture across teams, influence technical decisions, solve ambiguous problems, and mentor senior engineers.
- Preferred qualifications include a relevant master’s degree with three years of experience and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
