Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering practices supporting LSEG Workspace.
- Design and improve highly available, scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms.
- Lead Kubernetes container orchestration, including scheduling, autoscaling, resource management, networking, resiliency, and lifecycle management.
- Define containerization standards using Docker and maintain reproducible infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform or comparable technologies.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate provisioning, deployments, configuration, environment management, and operational processes.
- Establish engineering standards for scalability, availability, disaster recovery, resiliency, security, and production readiness.
- Improve logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, platform reliability, performance, operational efficiency, and cloud cost optimization.
- Investigate complex production incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative improvements.
- Collaborate across engineering, architecture, QA, security, SRE, and product teams to improve developer and production experience.
- Mentor DevOps and software engineers, promote engineering practices, and evaluate emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.
- Proven experience operating and supporting large-scale, business-critical production systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure and deep production knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with Docker, container-based application architectures, Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code technologies, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management, infrastructure security, secrets management, scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, resiliency, and disaster recovery.
- Experience implementing observability solutions using metrics, logging, tracing, and monitoring platforms.
- Strong understanding of production operations, incident management, root cause analysis, and reliability engineering practices.
- Experience addressing infrastructure performance and cloud cost optimization opportunities.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems, design pragmatic scalable solutions, communicate effectively, influence technical decisions, mentor engineers, and define engineering standards.
- Desirable experience includes Amazon EKS, Azure Kubernetes Service, Kubernetes autoscaling technologies, modern observability platforms, distributed systems, microservices, financial-services environments, FinOps, developer platforms, and self-service infrastructure.
