Responsibilities
- Set the technical vision, strategy, targets, KPIs, and roadmap for the cloud platform tribe.
- Drive secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud platform services and reduce technical debt.
- Establish platform guardrails, reference architectures, and automated controls for security, compliance, resilience, observability, and cloud economics.
- Enable cloud adoption through reusable platform services, automation, self-service, and consistent developer and customer experiences.
- Analyze platform usage, architecture, operational health, risk, and cost to define improvement priorities.
- Identify, incubate, and productize innovative platform capabilities, including AI-enabled engineering, governance, and operations.
- Prioritize conflicting requirements, manage technical dependencies, and support product owners, architects, technical leads, and senior engineers.
- Represent the tribe to management, governance bodies, customers, providers, technology partners, and other stakeholders.
- Develop the Tribe Technical Leadership practice and foster engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and technical talent development.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in technical leadership for public cloud platforms, cloud-native services, or large-scale infrastructure products.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, including compute, containers, networking, identity, data, and managed platform services.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code and automated delivery, including tools such as Terraform, cloud-native templates, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and policy as code.
- Sound understanding of cloud-native architecture and platform engineering, including containers, Kubernetes, APIs, automation, self-service, and developer platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud security, compliance, resilience, observability, and FinOps, with the ability to turn these requirements into scalable platform guardrails.
- Experience creating technical roadmaps and moving capabilities from proof of concept into reliable, supportable, and adopted services.
- Ability to simplify complex system landscapes, make technical trade-offs, and communicate decisions to engineering teams, customers, governance functions, and senior management.
- Experience working within large, complex, multinational organizations, ideally in a regulated industry.
- Hands-on mindset, curiosity about emerging technologies, and focus on measurable customer value.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is advantageous.
